A Systems Administrator is a key element in providing Fanatical support to our customers and is expected to provide a high level of professional care, technical support and customer service over the phone and in support tickets.

As a Systems Administrator you are expected to apply thorough problem-solving techniques, coupled with technical expertise to identify the source of the problem and own the issues through to resolution, whilst keeping the customer up-to-date and reassured with updates over the phone and ticketing system.

You will also give advice on best practices or potential pitfalls that you identify and suggest alternatives that may better serve the stability, security and performance of the customer’s solution.

Duties include:

– To provide the highest level of Technical support.
– Create and maintain customer loyalty by serving customers above and beyond their expectations
– Exercise judgment in decision making in order to routinely deliver FANATICAL support to customers.
– Take ownership of issues and seeing them through to resolution.
– Responsible for solving a customer’s technical issues
– Support customers over the phone and via tickets

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following:

– General knowledge of Networking, Hardware, software, DNS
– Proficient in RedHat Linux (RHCE level)
– MySQL and Apache experience
– System services (i.e., Apache, Mail transfer agents (sendmail, postfix, qmail), FTP, SSH and PHP)
– Clustering experience
– Understand the purpose of Firewalls and Load Balancers, VPN and SSL technologies

Job Description

The Linux Operations Engineer is responsible for hands-on implementation of infrastructure components and deployment tools for Medidata’s products. Responsibility Overview:

  • Provide technical support and administration of Linux Servers with operational knowledge of Web/Application/Database servers in a Cloud computing environment

Technical

– Apply technical knowledge associated with the various devices and technologies used at Rackspace, which include but are not limited to Cisco ASA/PIX and CSS loadbalancers, VPN, DNS, Routing/Switching and IP’ing/Subnetting.
– Strong awareness of subnetting and CIDR
– Good knowledge of DNS (A records, CNAMES, MX records, Authority Section, TTL values.)
– Switching (Vlans, STP, trunking etc) and general networking
– Needs good understanding of IP routing, TCP/IP ports and services, different levels of the OSI model and exposure to operating systems (Windows server and Linux)

The Cyber Security Manager for Rackspace International will oversee and coordinate logical security efforts across the organization in collaboration with other key stakeholders in the business. Primary job responsibilities
  • Provide high level technical support to customers by taking incoming calls and responding to web-based inquiries
  • Perform diagnostics of problems, troubleshoot and develop solutions for customer issues
